| The goal of our program is to develop in each student a life long love and respect of the aquatic environment. Swimming is one of the few sports that a person can compete in their entire life. It is our mission to share our own love of the sport with as many as possible, while at the same time, teaching water safety to help diminish one of the leading causes of death. Safety is our top priority, while keeping it fun is essential. Teaching proper strokes throughout a swimmer’s development will enable any swimmer to progress to their heart’s content. Swimming is a very developmental sport. Every student learns and excels at their own pace. It is recommended that students not be compared in their pursuit of swimming excellence. In younger children, (pre-puberty) there are huge differences in ability in similar age groups. Even though children tend to develop at different rates and times, in the end they all catch up. Children are grouped in lessons according to their swimming level and sometimes are put with children of other ages. |

|
The advantages of swimming lessons are that your child is not only developing their physical/motor skills, but also developing greater confidence, social skills, and improved cognitive and linguistic skills during each and every lesson. This is exciting, because you can have the confidence that each lesson will have positive effects on many aspects of your child’s life.
Usually students progress from one level to the next in two or three sessions (12 18 weeks). Every child develops differently; so do not be upset if your child is taking longer to progress. Children tend to reach plateaus in their swimming development. These plateaus are important because it allows a child to perfect certain skills and put them into long-term memory before advancing to more difficult skills. |

To help keep cost of lessons down, we cannot offer make-ups. Remember, your child’s instructor is paid to be here whether or not you show up for your swim lesson. With extenuating (extended illness, etc.) circumstances, we will allow a partial credit for future session payment. With private lessons, 24-hour notice is required to reschedule. We do not allow instructors to teach if they are contagiously ill, but will do our best to provide a substitute teacher. If a substitute is unavailable & we cancel your lesson you will receive a make-up or a credit, but unfortunately we DO NOT provide make-ups for vacations, recitals, scheduling conflicts, or instructor changes. |
