Clayton CagleHEAD COACH headcoach@fleetswimming.com 281-376-1251 Office Hours 9a.m.-12p.m. & 1p.m.-3p.m. Coach Clayton Cagle has been with the Cypress-Fairbanks Swim Club for 21 years and is beginning is 30th year overall as a swimming coach. During his tenure with FLEET, he has seen the club grow from a small growing club into one of the model programs within the Gulf and USA Swimming. Coach Cagle coached athletes have reached the highest levels of the sport, with two former coached FLEET swimmers, Jamie Rauch and Andrew Livingston competing in the Olympic Games. Coach Cagle was selected to serve as the Head Men’s coach of the 2006 USA Swimming National Junior team that will compete in Australia. He previously was an Assistant Coach of the 2001 USA Swimming Goodwill Games team. Coach Cagle was chosen as Texas Senior Coach of the Year in 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2002 and Gulf Senior Coach of the Year in 1995, 1997, 2000 and 2006. He currently serves as chair of the Texas Senior Circuit and is a member of the Gulf Swimming Board of Directors. Coach Cagle was an All-American swimmer at Drury University. He began coaching while in college and after graduation spent three years with the Jefferson City Swim Club (1979-1982) with his first score at nationals in the 1500 in 1982. He then moved to Assistant Coach at the University of Kansas, where he spent 4 years. He was the coach of the 1983 women’s team which placed 7th in the NCAA meet with American records that earned hall of fame status for the team. Coach Cagle has been married 23 years to his wife Brenda, who is a volleyball and track coach at Bleyl Middle School. The couple has two children, Kurtis, a student at Stephen F. Austin University and Brad a junior at Cy-Creek High School.
Allen SalinasHEAD AGE GROUP COACH coachallen@fleetswimming.com Office Hours 9a.m.-12p.m. & 1p.m.-3p.m. Coach Allen Salinas joined the Fleet Coaching Staff in September 2002. In October 2004, Coach Allen was named the Head Developmental Coach for the Satellite Programs. Allen is well known for his energy, enthusiasm, and teaching techniques that are so vital to the success of the age group athlete. Allen is also a key instructor in our fast growing Fleet F.I.R.S.T. program, and has been an integral part in the program’s considerable success. His prior coaching experience includes the NWAL teams Jersey Village Stars, Northgate Country Club, and Enchanted Valley Marlins. Allen is a graduate from the University of Houston with a degree in Kinesiology and Creative Writing.
Jaime LewisJUNIOR TEAM COACH coachjaime@fleetswimming.com Office Hours 9a.m.-12p.m. & 1p.m.-3p.m. Coach Jaime joined the FLEET staff in the summer of 2005 after spending the past year coaching at the University of Florida and with the USA Swimming program affiliated with the University. That followed a successful club and college career that saw Coach Jaime earn 19 All-American honors and compete as a member of the USA National team where she earned a 6th place finish in the 2001 World University Games. Coach Jaime is a native of Houston and was a 6-time Texas High School 5A state champion and set records in the 200 free and 200 IM. She was the National High School champion in the 200 free in 2000 and earned 28 High School All American recognitions. She earned the Jack Bilas Award twice during her high school career awarded annually to the top High School Swimmer in Texas. She was a two-time MVP at the University of Florida where she served as team co-captain in 2004 and was a semi-finalist in the 200 IM at the 2004 US Olympic Trials in Long Beach, CA.
Christopher WaidGOLD TEAM COACH coachchris@fleetswimming.com Office Hours 9a.m.-12p.m. & 1p.m.-3p.m. Coach Chris Waid returns to the FLEET staff after serving as a head coach in New Mexico and the Houston area. He has had tremendous success working with swimmers of all skill level and ability ranging from the learn-to-swim program to age-group, senior and masters level. His leadership, direction and experience has helped develop TAGS level qualifiers, Top 16 performers, Sectional qualifiers, Junior National qualifiers and High School All-Americans. He is a firm believer in the development of the swimmer through the proper progressions as well as the aerobic fundamental development of a swimmer to ensure the best possible swimmer throughout each stage of their individual careers. Coach Waid has been a USA Swimming coach since 1989 and is a ASCA level 3 certified coach.
Eddie Adams coacheddie@fleetswimming.com Coach Eddie Adams joined Cypress-Fairbanks Swim Club in August 2006. Eddie coaches the Spillane Satellite Group of Bronze and Competitive Prep Groups. Eddie has served as Head Coach for area teams of Magnolia, Star Swim Team, and Bay City Aquatics. Eddie has served as Assistant Coach for Space City Aquatic Team and The Woodlands Swim Team. Eddie started coaching in the Houston area in 1977 and is currently in his 30th year of Coaching. Eddie was selected Coach of The Year in High School swimming while at McCullough High School in the Woodlands. Eddie has served on The Board of Gulf Swimming as Age Group Chair, Safety Coordinator and now serves as Coaches Representative. Eddie has served as Head Coach to Gulf Swimming Zone Team, Assistant Coach to both Zone Team, LSC Team and North-South Team. Eddie was an All American at Midland Junior College and National Qualifier while at Lamar University. Eddie is married to Lisa who is a Real Estate Agent for Prudential Gary Greene and works at the Fleet Office. Their daughters both swim for Cypress-Fairbanks Swim Club in the Elite program and are freshman at Cy-Woods High School.
Matt Honecoachmatt@fleetswimming.com Coach Matt joined the fleet staff in February of 2007 as a Fleet First instructor. In September of the same year, Matt joined the coaching staff as an assistant in the developmental age group program. His prior experience includes 6 years and counting as a summer league head coach for the NWAL swim team Inverness Forest Stingrays where he also grew up as a swimmer and developed a passion for the sport. Matt graduated from Sam Houston State University where he majored in Kinesiology and Spanish. He loves working with kids and is known for his patience and dedication to helping kids learn to love the sport of swimming and develop a lifelong desire to stay in the sport.
Scott Scofield coachscott@fleetswimming.com Coach Scott Scofield joined the FLEET staff in February 2008. He will be assisting coaches in the Gold, Junior, Senior, and Elite programs. Scott swam for FLEET from 1996 till 1999, while attending Cypress Falls High School. He was a two-time All-American while in high school. Swam for one year at Southern Illinois University and was First Team All Missouri-Valley Conference. Graduated from Sam Houston State University in December of 2007 with a bachelor of science in Kinesiology and a minor in Health. |
