Alumni Hall of
Fame
Since 2006,
Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club has been recognizing outstanding
individuals both in and outside of the water.
These individuals have served through their committment
to the club, in the sport and their committment to the sport
of swimming overall. Our Hall of Fame process begins with
recommendations and applications submitted every January 31 that
follow a list of criteria for review by the Fleet Hall of Fame
Committee. If you know of a certain Fleet alumni or active
member that you believe has exhibited outstanding service to
the sport, please fill out an application to be reviewed for the
2010 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the FLEET Awards Banquet in
April.

2009 Hall Of
Fame
Gary
Baker

Gary has been the true leader
in multiple facets of our club from the time he bacame a member and
continuing currently as an alumni. Gary has represented us
with Gulf Swimming at meetings and with multiple issues including
the bidding process for Gulf/USA Meets as our meet director for 3
years. He organized all aspects of FLEET hosted meets and
trained many memgbers on teh operations of running a meet.
Gary has set up work details and directed the construction of the
FLEET First facility, designed and led the constrution of the
retaining wall and subsequent deck expansion as well as the timing
and meet operations huts. Gary is currently very
involved in various USA Swimming programs in Colorado
Springs.
Rick Tobin
Rick has been a significant contributor to all
aspects of the FLEET programs. Rick’s
guidance and representation of FLEET within in the swimming
and non-swimming organizations we interact with. As a club
representative, Rick has be our liaison between Gulf
Swimming, USA Swimming, NWAL and Cy-Fair ISD. From a
facilities perspective, Rick used his engineering background
assisting us in the design of many projects, the original FLEET
First building, the bulkhead, the office construction and the new
FLEET First facility.
2008 Hall Of Fame
Andrew
Livingstonbegan
swimming with Fleet in 1988. His success in the pool led him
to be chosen as a member of the Puerto Rico Olympic Team in 2000
where he semi-finaled and placed 13th in the 200 fly. In
2001, Livingston became the team’s first National Champion in
the 200 fly. As a pro in Puerto Rico, he
holds National records and went on to win several
championships. He was one of the few nationally ranked 10 and
under and 11-12 age group swimmers to continue to the highest
level,, competing in both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic
Games.
Todd Pace began his swimming with Fleet in
1982. He went on to swim for SMU where he held the 50 yd
freestyle record (19.72) from 1990-1996. He is responsible
for the leading the change in our team colors from green to
red and black. He has represented the Gulf and Florida
as an athlete rep and was a USA National Team member from 1989 to
1995, competeing in 10 different
conuntries. One of Todd’s fondest memories of
FLEET is attending the team’s annual
beach week boot camp each summer and winning his first Jr.
Nationals West title in the 50 freestyle and then going hiking for
3 days with his coach.
