New Fleet FIRST Aquatics Director Hired

Fleet Swimming and Fleet FIRST are pleased to announce that Matt Rackham has accepted the position of the FLEET First Aquatics Director for the FLEET First Swim School, effective February 22, 2010.

Matt Rackham will supervise the management and operation of all FLEET First programs and classes, including responsibilities over the Fleet First instructional and front office staff. 

Matt graduated from the State University of New York in Albany, New York with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, also an Associates in Arts in Math & Science from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York, plus an Associates in Marketing and Public Relations Management from Rumney College in Cardiff, Wales UK. Matt was working on a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at the University of New Orleans but the program did not continue after Hurricane Katrina.

Prior to accepting this position he served as Director of Health and Safety Services for the American Red Cross, Aquatics Director at Victory Family YMCA in Yorktown, Virginia, Aquatics Director for the Jewish Community Center in Norfolk, Virginia, Aquatic Programs Director at Mel Korum Family in Puyallup, Washington and Aquatics Coordinator at West Seattle Family YMCA in Seattle, Washington.

Matt brings experience and proven track record of success in the swim school and aquatic programs arena, which will be invaluable in meeting the school’s goals and objectives.

Fleet is confident that Matt Rackham will be an excellent match for this position and a strong asset to the FLEET First Team.  Matt Rackham will be located in the Fleet office building, the first cubicle to the right (across from the kitchen).
