
Jack Maddan

Jack
Maddan is the club’s 3rd Head Coach since its
beginning in 1975. He began coaching over 15 years ago and
has coached at every level from age group through Olympic Trial
level. Jack has produced several nationally ranked swimmers,
multiple Junior and Senior National qualifiers, over a dozen high
school All-Americans, and state champions. In addition, Jack
qualified two swimmers in two years for the National Select
Camp. Through this process, he placed multiple swimmers
collegiately.
Jack was most recently the Head Coach at
Parkway Swim Club, before joining FLEET. Prior to Parkway,
Jack was the Head Coach with Hilton Head Aquatics and Senior
Assistant Coach with Y-Spartaquatics in South Carolina. While
in the Carolinas, Jack was selected as Zones coach four times
(1999, 2001, 2005, 2006) and selected as Coach of the Year two
times (2001, 2010). Jack worked with some of the most
influential leaders in the sport, most notably as the Head Age
Group Coach for SwimMac, working under mentor Pat Hogan, now the
Managing Director of Club Development for USA Swimming. At
SwimMac, Coach Jack managed over 300 age group swimmers, producing
a solid base for their program.
Jack
places a strong emphasis on stroke technique and dedication to a
goal-oriented work ethic. He sees training champion athletes as a
long-term and multi-faceted process, one that gradually develops
potential from childhood to athletic maturation.
Jack’s ability to develop model club structures along
with his gift inproducingnational level athletesmakes him one of
the most successful club head coaches in the
country.
Jack
grew up in Northern California and was an All American swimmer in
college before transferring schools and graduating from Sonoma
State University with a BA in Political Science. Jack is
married to Mary Bridget and has three children. Both Jack and
Mary Bridget are Ironman triathletes.

Andrew Korda
Head Age Group Coach

Coach Andy joins Fleet, after
spending the last 10 seasons as the Head Coach of the City of
Midland Aquatics swimming program. Korda adds these accolades to
many others that he has earned over the years, including developing
National and Olympic Trials qualifiers as well as developing a
National Age Group (NAG) number one ranking athlete. As Head
Age Group Coach, Korda helped Katy Aquatics grow into the top
ten placement at TAGS (Texas Age Group Swimming). Korda has coached
several individual champions, winning TAGS, NCSA Junior
Nationals,Speedo Junior National finalist, and National
finalists.
Coach Andy has previously spent 6
years on the Gulf Board as Age Group Chair, Safety Chair, and At
large member. He also has been three time Gulf Head Zones
Coach, two time Gulf All Star Head Coach, and the
2012 West Texas Head Zones Coach. Korda is
enthusiastic and passionate about advancing our Age Group program
by applying his remarkable talent and focus on the technical
aspects of swimming with his attention to detail. Korda and
his wife, Lisa have a 13 month old son named Jayden.

Matt Hone
Lead Developmental Coach

Coach Matt joined the fleet staff in February of 2007 as a Fleet
First instructor. In September of the same year, Matt joined the
coaching staff as an assistant in the developmental age group
program. Since that time, Coach Matt has produce multiple TAGS
finalists and champions in the age group programs. Coach
Matt's emphasis on technique and quality training, coupled with his
gift to inspire athletes to reach their potential, has earned him
to be considered as being one of the most talented age group
coaches in the gulf and in Texas. His prior experience
includes 7 years as a summer league head coach for the NWAL swim
team Inverness Forest Stingrays where he also grew up as a swimmer
and developed a passion for the sport. He loves working with kids
and is known for his patience and dedication to helping kids learn
to love the sport of swimming and develop a lifelong desire to stay
in the sport. Matt graduated from Sam Houston State University where he
majored in Kinesiology and Spanish.

Dustin Myers
Elite & Silver II Team Coach

Coach Dustin is beginning his
second season with FLEET after spending the past five seasons as
assistant coach for the Centenary Swimming program in Shreveport,
Louisiana. Myers graduated from Centenary in 2008 with a
degree in health and exercise science then went into coaching for
Centenary shortly after. During his time with The Gents,
Myers was voted team captain by his peers as a Junior and Senior,
capturing Second Team All-Conference Excellence as a Senior.
He also was awarded Second Team All-Conference honors all
four years and earned the Commissioner's List of Academic
Excellence as a Senior. Dustin is a native of Round Rock,
Texas and coaches the Silver II group and the Elite
Team.

Maryanne Svoboda
Bronze II and Silver Team Coach

Coach Maryanne
previously swam for the University of Houston Women's Swimming and
Diving Team. She was a High School Regional finalist in the
200-yard and 500-yard freestyle as well as an All-State qualifier
in the 500-yard freestyle. Coach Maryanne was a Jersey
Village High School record holder in the 100-, 200- and 500-yard
freestyle events and a member of the record-setting 200- and
400-yard freestyle relay teams. Coach Maryanne is in her
fifth season with Fleet and has a Level 2 certified
coaching member of USA Swimming.

Camilo Orellana
Bronze, HS Prep & Competitive Prep

Coach Camilo Orellana
joined the FLEET coaching staff from ETEX in 2011. Orellana
also was the Stonecreek Stingrays summer league team, TAGS swimmer,
and Regional UIL High School qualifier all four years. Coach
Camilo graduated from Stepen F. Austin and is the High School Prep
and Bronze coach at Spillane and is looking forward to
developing young athletes with passion and a drive to do their
best.

Alex Rayner
Junior Team & Competitive Prep Team

Alex Rayner begins his first season
with the Cypress Fairbanks Swim Club coaching staff. Rayner
comes to Fleet after previously spending five years at Crawfish
Aquatics in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as the assistant to the Senior
Head Coach, and the Strength and Conditioning Coach before being
promoted to the High School program's Head Coach in August of 2011.
His responsibilities included overseeing the teams’ swimmers,
in addition to assisting with the development of their top end
program. During Rayner’s tenure at
Crawfish Aquatics, the team finished as State Champions in Short
Course- 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 and Long Course- 2008, 2009, 2010,
2011, 2012.
Rayner had the privilege of working
under Dr. Steven Ripple, former Head Strength and Condition Coach
of Stanford University Men’s Swim Team. Under his
direction, Rayner developed Olympic Trials qualifiers, Senior and
Junior National Qualifiers, multiple Sectional and State
qualifiers. “Alex is a great coach and a wonderful
motivator. He is a disciplined worker and has a bright future
in coaching. He will be a tremendous fit to the Fleet
Program” Ripple said.
Rayner graduated from Southeastern
Louisiana University with a degree in
Kinesiology.

Ambar Fernandez
Bronze Team Coach

Ambar came to Fleet First in March 2010 but has taught swimming
for many years. Coach Ambar was also the assistant
coach for the Spring Cypress Stingrays the summer of 2011.
She swam competitively at age 6,
making Nationals and Junior Olympics. Ambar loves swimming and enjoys teaching
swimmers of all ages, and remains enthusiastic and positive by
pushing her students to achieve the next level. She is Lifeguard,
CPR and First Aid certified and speaks English and
Spanish.

Jeff Carder
Copper Team & Pre-Competitive Team

Coach Jeff Carder is
beginning his first season coaching with FLEET. Jeff is
currently attending Lone Star, and has been with Fleet First since
January 2011. Prior to working at FLEET, Coach Jeff worked as
an assistant coach for the Coles Crossing as a summer league coach,
and also helped with lessons. Jeff is a personable and
outgoing teacher and loves to see his athletes develop a passion
for swimming. Prior to coaching, Coach Jeff swam for FLEET
and was on the 11-12 Boys 2004, 200 Free Relay with fellow FLEET
swimmers, Matt Duhon, Charlie Moore, and Brock Burdyl. The
relay placed the 6th fastest relay in the country for 11-12 Boys
and won the Age Group Championship relay as
well.

Chris Woolsey
High School Prep Coach

Coach
Chris began coaching for FLEET since October 2012. Chris
assists in the training of mulitiple groups at the Aquatic Center
as well as our satellite programs. Coach Chris is also an
instructor in our renown FLEET First Swim School and the primary
coach for the High School Prep group. Coach Chris swam for
Nimitz High School and swim summer league for the Inverness Forest
Stingrays. Coach Chris loves working with athletes of all
ages
